# VestLens

> VestLens is a read-only view of your Wealthsimple accounts, in Canadian dollars, inside Claude and ChatGPT. VestLens can read your accounts. It can't trade or move money. VestLens states facts about your accounts. It doesn't give investment advice.

- MCP server: https://vestlens.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP; OAuth 2.1 authorization code with PKCE; dynamic client registration and client ID metadata documents; protected-resource metadata at https://vestlens.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp; scope portfolio:read)
- Supported accounts: Wealthsimple self-directed accounts (TFSA, FHSA, RRSP, non-registered and crypto), through SnapTrade. Managed Wealthsimple portfolios aren't available through SnapTrade, so they don't appear. More brokerages are coming.
- Currency: Everything is in Canadian dollars. Amounts converted from US dollars use the Bank of Canada rate and are marked est. with the rate's date.
- Brokerage sign-in: You sign in to your brokerage on SnapTrade's page, never in chat. VestLens never sees your password.
- Price: Free and read-only.
- Availability: early access. Free during early access, and open to the first 50 people while we make sure every number is right.

## Capabilities

- Overview (show_portfolio, get_portfolio_snapshot, list_portfolio_accounts): Every account in one view, in Canadian dollars, with today's change and your return this year. Example: "Show me my portfolio."
- Performance (show_performance): Your return with deposits taken out, per year once you have a year of history, against the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Dow, S&P/TSX or XEQT. Example: "How have I done against the S&P 500 since I started?"
- Report card (show_report_card): How each holding did against the market since you bought it, what happened after you sold, and what currency conversion and fees cost you. Example: "Give me my investing report card."
- TFSA and FHSA room (get_contribution_room, remember): How much contribution room you have left this year, from your own deposits and withdrawals. Example: "How much TFSA room do I have left?"
- Holdings (show_holdings, get_account_positions): What you own across accounts, with cost, value and gain as your brokerage reports them. Example: "What do I hold, and what's up the most?"
- Holding check (show_thesis): One holding in depth: your return since you bought it against the same money in the S&P 500 and TSX, its share of your portfolio, and recent news. Example: "How is XEQT doing for me?"
- Allocation (show_allocation): How your money splits by asset class, sector, region, currency and account. Example: "How much of my portfolio is in US stocks?"
- Limits (set_portfolio_limit, show_limits): Limits you set, like no more than 10% in one stock, checked against your real holdings. Example: "Keep any single stock under 10% of my portfolio."
- Activity (show_activity, get_account_history): Your trades, deposits, withdrawals, dividends and fees, filtered by account and type. Example: "What did I buy and sell this month?"
- Income (show_income): Dividends and interest by month and by holding, with withholding tax. Example: "How much did I earn in dividends this year?"
- News and movers (show_news): What moved in your portfolio and the news about your holdings. Example: "Why did my portfolio drop today?"
- Calendar (show_calendar): Upcoming earnings and dividend dates for what you hold. Example: "What earnings are coming up for my holdings?"
- Alerts (get_portfolio_alerts): Material events since you last checked: unusual moves, important news, room you've gone over. Good for a scheduled task. Example: "Anything I should know about my portfolio today?"
