Numbers you can trust

We'd rather show a gap than a guess.

One currency, honestly converted
Everything is in Canadian dollars. Amounts converted from US dollars use the Bank of Canada rate and are marked est. with the rate's date.
Missing means missing
If your brokerage doesn't report a figure, you'll see that, not an estimate dressed up as a fact.
Updated daily, not live
Balances and holdings update once a day through SnapTrade, so they can be behind your Wealthsimple app. Today's change uses market prices, and new trades and deposits show up the next day.
Investments only
Closed accounts and credit products are listed separately and kept out of your investment totals.
How each figure is worked out
Every calculated figure has an info button that says how it was worked out.

What VestLens won't do

See it all. Touch nothing.

The limits are the point. A portfolio view that can't act on your accounts is one you can connect without worrying.

  • Doesn't place trades. There's no buy or sell button anywhere in VestLens.
  • Doesn't move money. No deposits, withdrawals or transfers.
  • Doesn't give investment advice. It shows and explains what you hold. Decisions stay yours.
  • Doesn't see your password. We keep what we need to show your portfolio: your SnapTrade connection (encrypted), accounts, holdings snapshots, activity, and the room details and limits you give it. You can download or delete it all from your Account page.

Questions

Which accounts can I connect?

Wealthsimple self-directed accounts (TFSA, FHSA, RRSP, non-registered and crypto), through SnapTrade. Managed Wealthsimple portfolios aren't available through SnapTrade, so they don't appear. More brokerages are coming.

Which assistants does it work with?

Claude, on any plan, on the web, desktop and mobile apps. ChatGPT, on plans that can add a custom MCP server (Pro, Business, and Enterprise or Edu). Developers can also use it in Codex. The connect page has the steps for each.

Is VestLens affiliated with Wealthsimple?

No. VestLens is independent. It reads your accounts through SnapTrade and is not endorsed by Wealthsimple.

Why doesn't my total match my brokerage app exactly?

Everything is in Canadian dollars. Amounts converted from US dollars use the Bank of Canada rate and are marked est. with the rate's date. Small differences from your brokerage's own conversion are expected. Turn on Original currencies to compare line by line.

Why is early access limited?

Each linked brokerage costs VestLens a monthly fee through SnapTrade, and we want to get every number right with a small group first. Early access is open to the first 50 people. When it's full, join the waitlist and we'll email you once, when a spot opens. Anyone can sign in and use the free TFSA page.

What does it cost?

VestLens is free. We're building an optional Tax Pass for tax season 2027 (C$39, once) with tax-time reports. Nothing is charged unless you choose it.

What do you keep, and can I delete it?

Your SnapTrade connection (encrypted), accounts, holdings snapshots, activity, and the room details and limits you give it. From your Account page you can download all of it or delete everything.

Bring your portfolio into focus.
